This website collects as little personal data as it can, and we don't sell it. To see how the site is used, we use Google Analytics and Google Ads tags, loaded through Google Tag Manager, and Vercel Analytics. The Google tags set cookies in your browser: see "Analytics and cookies" below for what they do and how to opt out.
What we collect
- Your email address, only if you subscribe to the newsletter or give it to get a download
- What you send through bianca.docx, the contact chat, and how you use it: see "bianca.docx, the contact chat" below
- Your name, email address and the times you pick, only if you send a booking request
- Usage data from Google Analytics, Google Ads and Vercel Analytics: see "Analytics and cookies" below
- Standard request logs, kept by Vercel, which hosts the site
Newsletter and downloads
If you subscribe to the newsletter, or give your email address to get a download, we store the address, when you gave it and where on the site in our Sanity CMS, in a private dataset that is never published with the site. It's used only to send new posts.
No newsletter has gone out yet. Every one that does will have an unsubscribe link, and until then, or at any time, you can email bianca@bianca.codes to be taken off the list.
After you give your address for a download, your browser remembers that you did (in localStorage, under bc:download-email-given), so you aren't asked again.
bianca.docx, the contact chat
bianca.docx is Bianca's AI concierge on the contact page. When you use it, we collect:
- your questions and bianca.docx's answers
- the kind of visitor you seem to be (recruiter, freelance client or other), worked out from the conversation, not from who you are
- a random session ID, kept in your browser's localStorage (
cv-bianca-session-id-v1), not a cookie - your country, worked out from your IP address
- your device type and browser name, from your browser's User-Agent header
- the site that sent you here (its hostname only) and any UTM parameters in the link
- what happens in the session: when it starts and ends, the questions asked, the suggested questions clicked, and whether you exported a recap
- how much each answer cost to generate, for cost tracking
- if you leave a message: your name, how to reach you, and your message
This is stored in the private dataset in our Sanity CMS, and used only to see how people use bianca.docx and so Bianca can follow up with you. Nothing is linked to who you are beyond what you choose to tell it. Session events, including bianca.docx's answers, are deleted after 180 days. A summary of each session and the questions asked are kept until you ask for them to be deleted.
Your messages are sent to Anthropic, whose Claude models write bianca.docx's answers. If you leave a message, your name, contact details and message are also emailed to Bianca through Resend.
Your browser keeps the conversation in localStorage (cv-bianca-transcript-v1) until you press Reset or clear the site's data. If bianca.docx offers to book a call, the summary it hands to the booking page is kept in sessionStorage (bc:booking-prefill), which your browser clears when you close the tab.
Booking a call
If you send a booking request, we store your name, email address, the times you picked, your time zone and any message in the private dataset, so Bianca can reply. To show free times, the booking page reads Bianca's free and busy times from her Microsoft calendar. Nothing you send goes to Microsoft.
The accessibility menu and Light Mode
The accessibility menu remembers your settings in your browser, in localStorage and in a cookie, both called asw-user-settings. If you choose Light Mode, that choice is kept in localStorage too (bc-theme). Reset settings in the menu clears them. The menu loads its font and language files from cdn.jsdelivr.net, which, like any web server, sees your IP address.
The site's own fonts are served from this site. Nothing is loaded from Google Fonts.
Analytics and cookies
This site uses Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to see how visitors use the site. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser (usually _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) holding a randomly generated identifier. They measure things like page views, how long visits last, approximate location (country and city, from your IP address), device and browser type, and the site that sent you here.
Tag Manager also runs Google Ads conversion and remarketing tags. They set Google advertising cookies, so Google can measure whether Bianca's ads lead to visits, and can show her ads to people who have visited this site on other sites and apps where Google shows ads. If you're signed in to Google and have personalised ads turned on, Google may connect this to your Google account.
Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights count page views and measure how fast pages load. They set no cookies and don't identify you.
None of this is sold, or combined with the newsletter, chat or booking data described above.
You can opt out in any of these ways:
- Turn off personalised ads in Google's My Ad Center.
- Install Google's opt-out browser add-on for Google Analytics.
- Block these cookies in your browser settings or with a content blocker.
- Clear the site's data to remove cookies already set.
See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
